Three simple things that have increased my DAILY productivity.

We’re almost at the end of the first month of the new year, and let me tell you, it’s flying by. If you’re like me, you always have these well-thought-out goals for the new year, but after a few days in, that list is nonexistent. Let’s keep it all the way to 100, lol.

I remember having a conversation with Jack before the end of 2021, telling him how I would start doing XZY come January 1st. He said my why wait, “just start now.” That was the extra push I needed to incorporate changes in how I operate my day today. I typically feel so drained and unaccomplished most days between work, tending to husband and kids, and whatever else decides to make a grand appearance throughout the day.

Honestly, these three simple tasks have made all the difference in my day. I’m like, why am I wasn’t doing this sooner?

Prayer/Quiet time

Listen! I can not stress enough how important it is to start your day off by praying and reading some of your favorite devotionals. It sets the tone for your attitude, which will equip you for all the interactions and tasks for the day. I usually do mine around 6:00 am while the boys are getting ready for school in their rooms. I know this seems like this is a given, but you’ll be surprised how many days you wake up, and you’re not spiritually and mentally preparing your mind for the day. I had a bad habit of immediately going to my social media app, which leads me to my next point.

Log out of your social apps.

I mean, do I need to explain this? Yes! At the end of the day, when you’re preparing for the next day. I’m sure you’re lying in bed on social media; maybe you’re the unicorn that’s not. But the reality is a lot of us are on social media right before bed. Please do me a favor next time you’re on the right before bed. Log out. Let me tell you how this has worked for me. Whenever I grab my phone in the morning and see that I need to log in, I start to think about what else I need to get done before being sociable. Seriously, what task did you put off the night before that needs attention today? Yes, you may have that password memorized like your social security number, but I’m telling you if you do this every night, you will be surprised at how your mind will remind you to do something else before engaging with your virtual folks.

Bedtime at a decent hour

I know this is easier said than done especially coming from three kids. I know; trust me, I get it. You put off many tasks throughout the day because more pressing things came up, and you’re simply one person. I tell myself now that if it didn’t get done today and it can wait until tomorrow, that will be good enough for me. Don’t be hard yourself again; you’re just one person. If it can wait until tomorrow or the next off/free day, let that be that and go to bed. I’ve been going to bed at a decent hour this last month and a half, and I can already see the difference in my productivity.

Let me know in the comments what helps you have a successful day.
