Set a Routine
This is something I had to get in the rhythm of doing. When the pandemic first started, I was well in my first trimester, so doing anything in a standard order was out of the question. Ask me do I have a routine/process now? Absolutely! It has helped me keep up and stay organized with my workload and job demands while also being flexible. Your routine could be showering every morning, eating a well-balanced breakfast, etc. Whatever sets the tone for a productive workday, adhere to that.
Work your standard hours
If you’re used to working the same set of hours, stick to it! Yes, you have the luxury of being able to sign on or get off earlier. However, make sure your hours are around the same time as they would be if you were in the office. A work-life balance is still needed even working from home.
Take Breaks
I can’t stress this enough, TAKE A BREAK!!! Close the computer, phone, tablet, or whatever. Step away from work; this gives you a moment to decompress. Take the full allocated time for your breaks, especially lunch.
Have a designated space
Having a space that is designated for you during working hours is something I would highly recommend. This gives you that familiar setting that you would typically have while in the office. Your day might consist of meetings, deadlines, emails, etc. It would help if you created a productive environment to make sure you’re keeping up with your job demands.
